Conservation Award

Conservation of water and electricity is an important responsibility that should be consciously undertaken by every thinking individual. By this, not only we can protect our natural resources from being needlessly wasted; we can produce a clean environment and sustain our precious resources – for our future generations to enjoy. Dubai Electricity & Water Authority, in collaboration with Knowledge & Human Development Authority, has embarked on this ecological initiative – in line with the vision of Dubai. As a result, "Conservation-for-a-Better-Tomorrow Award" has been instituted, out of the need to motivate and bring our collective endeavours to life. Hence catching them young; raising conservation awareness in our educational institutions.

The significance of conservation is even more pronounced at this particular time and age, where the world witnesses widespread environmental pollution. We can very well observe the deep negative effects of it, in and around the environment that we live in. In view of this ever-growing pollution, we all need to act now, to save and protect our natural resources by reducing its consumption, and encourage all members of the public, corporations and establishments to act alike as well.

Conservation means avoiding wasting more than what is necessary in the use of water and electricity. This can be achieved through following various simple measures to lower consumption, and the optimal usage of energy and natural resources.

"To help education institutions, both government and private, to foster a culture of rational usage and effective conservation of electricity and water, and to help reduce its wastage while consuming the invaluable resource."
