MD & CEO of DEWA welcomes Kyrgyz Ambassador

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia), welcomed HE Chyngyz Eshimbekov, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the UAE, to discuss mutual cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Suqia, to address water challenges around the world.

Al Tayer welcomed the Kyrgyzstan Ambassador, attended by Mohammed Abdulkarim Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of Suqia. Al Tayer said that DEWA and Suqia are keen to strengthen diplomatic and consular ties.

Al Tayer noted that Suqia is keen to provide clean water by conducting research to develop innovative and sustainable technological solutions to help millions of people suffering from scarcity and pollution of drinking water around the world.

Al Tayer highlighted that, in 2016, over 8 million people benefitted from Suqia’s projects to provide clean drinking water to the needy in 19 countries around the world. This was in cooperation with several leading charitable organisations.

Eshimbekov commended DEWA’s and Suqia’s efforts, and explained that he looks forward to working with both organisations on projects that serve remote areas in Kyrgyzstan that suffer from a lack of clean water.
