HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai International Marine Club, visited Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s stand on the second day of GITEX 2017. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, welcomed His Highness and briefed him on DEWA’s latest services, initiatives, and smart solutions, which contribute to making Dubai the best city for the delivery of smart, innovative, and world-class services that meet the needs of all people and achieve their happiness.

Al Tayer explained the Blockchain for Green Charger initiative to His Highness. The initiative provides customers and service providers with services, such as facilitating the registration of electric vehicles, providing more secure transactions, and accurately locating electric vehicle charging stations.

Al Tayer also briefed His Highness on the Future Centre for Customer Happiness, which relies on Artificial Intelligence (AI), robots, and mart payment platforms. HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was also briefed on DEWA’s website and DEWA’s updated smart application, the virtual employee service called Rammas, the smart helmet and smart glasses (DAQRI), which is basedovirtual reality technology to help engineers working in power stations to achieve their tasks, as well as 3D-printing to make spare parts, and the improvement of the performance of maintenance and operations. His Highness was also briefed on the Big Data initiative, the smart monitoring of electrical appliances and energy consumption at home, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and DEWA’s new headquarters, Al-Shera’a, which will be the tallest, largest, and smartest government Zero-Energy Building (ZEB) in the world.
