MD&CEO’s Message about Careers

Under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to support the skills and capabilities of UAE Nationals and their career development, and as part of DEWA’s strategy to support Emiratisation in the government sector and the placement of qualified UAE National staff in specialist roles that will significantly influence the performance of government organisations, DEWA is seeking to attract UAE Nationals who have a range of different skills.

DEWA is committed to continuously recruiting talented UAE Nationals of both genders with the most suitable academic qualifications to be part of its workforce. This is achieved in different ways such as providing scholarships and grants at various universities, colleges and training programmes both at home and abroad to develop their skills and abilities. This is intended to attract the most students from the UAE as a key strategic objective to recruit for various scientific specialist roles.

Furthermore, DEWA ensures that these specialist roles include the necessary ongoing training required to ensure excellence and efficiency in their performance. This supports DEWA’s strategic objective to invest in its workforce to enhance the productivity of its employees and develop their competiveness. This includes the adoption of world-class practices and quality standards to enable excellence in performance and the quality of services that DEWA provides to its customers, in line with its vision to become a sustainable world-class utility.

As part of our ongoing efforts to develop the most productive environment, DEWA recognises and rewards its outstanding employees: to instil a culture of innovation and excellence, and ensure that the highest levels of quality and efficiency are manifested in the workplace and in a positive environment.

Therefore, at DEWA we encourage staff to compete in attaining innovation and excellence, to sustain our pioneering efforts to ensure we don’t just rest on our achievements but continuously strive to improve even further.

This is what we call Excellence, which involves working to reach the highest levels of efficiency and performance in our achievements. Employees who excel have the courage to change because they care more about how to do the right thing rather than doing the thing right. They will exceed the expectations of others and so we must not forget that teamwork leads to excellence. Every employee, every manager and every department is not there to just perform a specific task but to also work with others to successfully achieve the goals we are all aiming for.

In conclusion, we will never stop in our efforts to achieve excellence and innovation at DEWA, to achieve the words of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai that, “In the race for excellence there is no finish line."

We ask Allah to guide and help our continuous efforts to achieve excellence and improve even further.
