    أرست هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي مشروع توريد وتدشين نظام إدارة التوزيع الذكي للمياه، يهدف إلى التحكم بجمع البيانات عن بعد ومراقبة شبكة توزيع المياه في إمارة دبي، حيث يأتي ذلك في اطار خطتها الاستراتيجية لرفع كفاءة شبكات المياه لتتماشى مع النمو في الطلب على خدماتها وتطلعات الهيئة نحو الوصول بهذه الخدمات إلى أعلى مستويات الكفاءة والإعتمادية.

    وقال سعادة/ سعيد محمد الطاير ، العضو المنتدب الرئيس التنفيذي لهيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي: "يتمثل الهدف الرئيسي للمشروع في رفع الكفاءة التشغيلية من خلال تنفيذ نظام ذكي لإدارة توزيع المياه عن طريق تركيب عدادات ذكية في كل منطقة، حيث تأتي هذه الخطوة لتعزز جهودنا في دعم مبادرة دبي الذكية التي أطلقها سيدي صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي، رعاه الله، لجعل دبي المدينة الأذكى والأسعد عالمياً، حيث أطلقنا في هذا المجال مبادرة التطبيقات الذكية من خلال عدادات وشبكات ذكية، بهدف بناء شبكات ذكية. ويشتمل المشروع على أحدث البرمجيات والتقنيات المتطورة بالإضافة إلى برنامج لتدريب الفنيين العاملين لإدارة النظام بكفاءة عالية، وتقدر تكلفته الإجمالية بنحو 65.4 مليون درهم ".

    وأوضح سعادته: "أن تنفيذ المشروع سيتم وفق البرنامج المخطط له مسبقاً، ومن المتوقع الإنتهاء من الأعمال الخاصة بالمشروع خلال عامين".

    جدير بالذكر أن النظام يتيح قراءة ومقارنة استهلاك العداد الرئيسي مع استهلاك مجموع العدادات الفرعية داخل المنطقة، مما يسهم في مراقبة الاستهلاك على مدار الساعة، وفي حال وجود خلل أو تسرب للمياه فان الفرق في القراءات يتم استشعارها عن طريق نظام المراقبة الذكي في مركز التحكم، مما يسهل على المشغلين في غرفة التحكم في عزل الأماكن التي يوجد بها تسرب بسرعة عالية لتقليل الفاقد من المياه في شبكات التوزيع، وإبلاغ فرق الصيانة للتوجه لاصلاح الضرر، مما يعزز كفاءة شبكة توزيع المياه، ورفع الإعتمادية وضمان إستمرار واستقرار امدادات المياه إلى مختلف مناطق دبي وفي كافة الأوقات.
