Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) continues to champion pioneering initiatives that strengthen the role of Emirati families and promote national entrepreneurship, in line with the UAE’s vision to build an interconnected and sustainable society. These efforts reflect DEWA’s social responsibility and its commitment to consolidate the values of co-operation and solidarity embodied by the UAE’s ‘Year of Community’.

To mark the 54th Eid Al Etihad and Dubai’s National Month, DEWA organised ‘Al Bait Metwahed’ exhibition at its headquarters, featuring 15 families of DEWA employees who own small businesses. The exhibition served as an interactive platform that showcased the talent and creativity of Emirati families. It offered employees and visitors the opportunity to view various products that reflect the passion and distinction of the participants, reinforcing a culture of entrepreneurship and embodying the spirit of cohesion within the DEWA family.

In partnership with the Ministry of Family and the Community Development Authority, DEWA also organised the ‘Basmat Al Dar’ exhibition, featuring productive families and People of Determination, alongside their families. The exhibition provided a leading platform to display their products and projects, as well as highlight their capabilities to a wide audience, enhancing their full and effective integration into society.

In line with its efforts to strengthen national identity and promote loyalty and belonging, DEWA celebrated Union Pledge Day, observed annually on 18 July, with a series of events reflecting the spirit of the Union. These included a workshop titled ‘Ahd Yatajaddad’ (A Pledge Renewed), which highlighted the historical context and patriotic significance of this day.

DEWA is keen to involve between 15 and 20 Emirati families in every exhibition it organises, reflecting its commitment to ensure wider participation and create economic and social opportunities for small businesses, employees’ families and People of Determination. DEWA also provides innovative platforms to support their businesses and enhance their presence in the local market.

DEWA emphasised that its initiatives during the ‘Year of Community’ are in line with the directives of the wise leadership to consolidate social values and deepen community participation.
