Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched its annual summer awareness campaign under the theme ‘Enjoy Sustainable Vibes This Summer’. The campaign encourages customers to make better use of DEWA’s smart tools to manage their electricity and water consumption more efficiently during the warmer months. It also highlights digital services and solutions that provide real-time data, helping customers make more informed, sustainable decisions.
Aligned with DEWA’s commitment to sustainability, the green economy and its Circular Economy Model, the campaign features a mix of awareness and interactive activities aimed at different segments of society. It focuses on promoting the responsible use of resources and strengthening a culture of sustainability. DEWA is also organising a series of lectures and interactive sessions with government and private sector partners across Dubai, encouraging both individuals and organisations to support the emirate’s sustainability and climate action goals. Interactive competitions on DEWA’s social media platforms form part of the campaign, motivating people to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. Participants who engage with the posts will have the chance to win prizes.
The campaign also draws attention to a range of smart services that help customers to track and manage their consumption, making it easier to limit waste and improve efficiency. These include the Smart Living initiative, which offers an interactive dashboard on its website and smart app, allowing users to view their billing details and tariff segments, and to track their electricity and water use daily, weekly and monthly. This provides a clearer picture of their consumption patterns and helps them take appropriate action.
The Consumption Assessment Tool includes an interactive survey that allows customers to evaluate how efficiently they use electricity and water. Upon completing the assessment, users receive a detailed report with insights into their consumption patterns, along with tailored recommendations for improvement.
The High Water Usage Alert service helps detect potential post-meter water leaks early by sending instant notifications when unusual spikes in consumption are identified. This allows customers to act quickly and avoid unnecessary waste.
For customers travelling during summer, the Away Mode feature provides added peace of mind by sending regular consumption reports via email, either daily or weekly, allowing them to detect any unusual consumption while they are away.
The summer awareness campaign also supports the transition towards sustainable mobility by highlighting DEWA’s EV Green Charger initiative. By the end of Q1, 2026, EV Green Charger network reached 2,223 charging points across Dubai, including stations licensed by DEWA in collaboration with government and private sector entities.
