As part of preparations for ‘WETEX’ 2013 MD & CEO of DEWA receives high-profile Russian delegation

As a part of preparations for the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2013, which will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre in April, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director & CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) , Chairman of WETEX Organising Committee, received a high-profile Russian delegation headed by Gocha Buachidze, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai; Michael Vorobiev, Head of Public Committee for Economy and Trade Affairs at the Consulate General of Russia in Dubai; Petrov Anatolyevich, Head of Areas Development Administration at Government of Russia; Valery Prokhorov, Chairman of Economy and International Affairs; Michael Kozlov, Deputy Manager of Water Networks in Moscow; and representatives of several Russian organisations. The meeting was attended by Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support at DEWA; Branly Nassour, VP-Water P&E New Connections; Abdul Sayed Abdul Hamid, Contracts Senior Manager; and Ahmed Abdullah, Deputy Senior Manager for External Communications at DEWA. “WETEX 2013 is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Chairman of DEWA. The exhibition is organised by DEWA under the umbrella of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy to achieve the vision of Dubai in building a sustainable future for the Emirate,” said Al Tayer. Al Tayer pointed out that WETEX has strengthened its position as an international platform for showcasing and discussing critical issues related to power, water, natural resources and sustainable development. He also urged organisations to participate in WETEX 2013 as it will be held in parallel with the Dubai Global Energy Forum 2013. The 15th session for WETEX will witness a wide participation from various vital sectors related to oil and gas industry including companies that work in oil and gas exploration, drilling, production, refinement, transportation, distribution, and export. The exhibition will showcase state-of-the-art technologies in the field of energy including fossil fuel, generating electricity through renewable sources and nuclear power, and smart, efficient and reliable networks. “WETEX 2013 is an international platform for manufacturers, dealers, decision makers and experts to communicate, build new healthy business relationships, discuss latest trends and technologies and strengthen existing alliances. WETEX brings together all concerned parties from the energy sector to promote global solutions for the energy sector that aim to meet the growing demand for power, support economic development, preserve natural resources and protect the environment,” added Al Tayer. The Russian delegation expressed their interest to have companies and organisations from Russia to participate in WETEX 2013 and enhance cooperation and strategic partnerships. The Russian delegation also presented an invitation to visit and participate in the United Arab Emirates Exhibition in Moscow.
