Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has wrapped up participation at the India Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS 2015), which is one of the largest exhibitions of engineering products and services in Mumbai. The show was organised by the Engineering Export Promotion Council, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
DEWA’s participation was to promote the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2016), which is organised by DEWA under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of DEWA. WETEX will be held from 4 - 6 October 2016 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
“To support the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we carry on our efforts to enhance international participations at WETEX 2016. We have made a number of successful global visits to explore opportunities for cooperation and attract participations from all related sectors including energy and related areas, environment, water, and oil and gas,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO, DEWA, President and Founder of WETEX.
“We are gearing up for another extensive visit to India in the first quarter of 2016, for closer discussions with decision makers. During the last visit, we managed to open many discussion channels with various Indian companies to increase their participation in the next WETEX,” added Al Tayer.
DEWA’s presence at the show was warmly welcomed by IESS 2015 visitors. Ravi Capoor, Joint Secretary of Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry in Indiam, as well as senior EEPC dignitaries visited DEWA stand, where DEWA team handed to Mr. Capoor a copy of ‘Flashes of Thought’ book by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. DEWA delegation discussed expanding participation of Indian companies in the Indian Pavilion at WETEX 2016.
DEWA gave a presentation on the 3rd day of the show in Mumbai, on the Government Procurement System including e-Procurement. It was attended by S. K. Dhanda, Former Chairman of EEPC India, Ireni Akoijam, Technical Director, NIC Mumbai, Amitabh Datta, Adjunct Faculty, NIFM & Former Additional Member, Railway Board, and Akshay Rath, CEO of e-Procurement Technologies Limited.
