Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is the exclusive sponsor of the Arabia CSR Forum2018, organised by Arabia CSR Network, on 2- 3 October at the Roda Al Murooj hotel, Dubai.
The Arabia CSR Forum is one of the largest specialised platforms on this subject in the region. It attracts specialists and enthusiasts from around the world. This year, the forum’s theme will be ‘Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals’ to highlight sustainability principles, concepts, and best practices that include the sustainability of enterprises by keeping pace with economic, social and environmental fluctuations.
“Our sponsorship for the forum supports our wise leadership’s vision and the objectives of the UAE Vision 2021, the UAE Centennial 2071, the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and other federal and local strategies to conserve natural resources, increase clean energy, implement green development plans, and contribute to the achievement of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals 2030,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
“These visions and strategies help launch our ambitious initiatives, programmes and projects to consolidate economic, social and environmental sustainability. Our vision is to be a globally sustainable and innovative utility that helps meet the aspirations and objectives of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals 2030, which we are keen to support by aligning to them with our strategies. By achieving these goals, DEWA will ensure water availability for all, access to reliable and sustainable modern energy services, promote sustained and inclusive economic growth, provide decent work, build resilient infrastructures, promote innovation, ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns, and take urgent actions to address climate change and its impact.”
“During the forum, we will show our vision for comprehensive sustainability to an experienced and competent international audience. We are committed to serving the community and adopting a strategy to consolidate the CSR values through a constant focus on the concepts of giving and solidarity between our employees and customers. Our annual community strategic plan includes several programmes and initiatives, and supports humanitarian and charitable activities at local, regional and global levels. We consider these activities to be an integral part of our role as a socially responsible government institution.”
The Arabia CSR Forum encourages the next generation to play important roles in facing future challenges and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Taking place alongside the forum is an awards ceremony which will be held to honour the winners of the Arabia CSR Awards, the Arab region’s premiere CSR and Sustainability accolade.
