The 20th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2018), organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of DEWA, has attracted more than 70 sponsors this year.

The exhibition will be held under the umbrella of the 5th Green Week at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), from 23 -25 October 2018, to showcase the latest developments and innovative solutions in the renewable and traditional energy sectors around the world. The exhibition will also provide trade opportunities and will encourage potential partnerships that promote the business sector.

Al Tayer pointed out that WETEX is contributing annually to promoting the exchange of the latest smart solutions and technologies on all aspects of the energy infrastructure sector from around the world. He emphasised DEWA’s commitment to expanding the number of the exhibitors each year to realise the objectives of the ‘Green Economy for Sustainable Development initiative, which was launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to transform the country into a global hub for exporting, and re-exporting green products and technologies. WETEX also supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 to transform Dubai into a global hub for clean energy and green economy, by providing 7% of Dubai’s total power output from clean energy by 2020. This target will increase to 25% by 2030, and 75% by 2050.
