Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is the Strategic Partner of the 3rd Arab Social Media Influencers Summit, which is organised by the Dubai Press Club under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The move is part of DEWA’s social responsibility and its efforts to support the vision of the wise leadership to promote the role of social media in serving society. The summit on 10 December 2018 will be attended by over 3,000 Arab and international social media experts, specialists, and influencers.

“We are pleased to sponsor the third Arab Social Media Influencers Summit. This is part of DEWA’s role as a socially responsible government organisation, and supports our strategic partnership with Dubai Press Club. The success of the last two summits underscores the forward vision of our wise leadership, who realised early on the positive role of social media in developing government services and providing innovative solutions by incorporating comments, suggestions, and ideas. Our leadership emphasise that these wide-spread channels especially among young people, should be tools for development, knowledge, innovation, and exchanging ideas and expertise as well as windows for communications and constructive interaction,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

“The Arab Social Media Influencers Summit has established its position as an important platform that attracts Arab and international social media experts, specialists and influencers to review the best experiences, successful practices and highlight initiatives that promote positive communication in society and propel this sector towards more innovation and creativity by utilising the great capabilities of social media. DEWA was one of the first Dubai government organisations to use social media to communicate with the public, and the first to develop a social media policy. Our social media channels are key tools to positively communicate with our customers and listen to their suggestions and feedback. This helps us achieve their happiness and the happiness of society as a whole,” concluded Al Tayer.
