The Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA) honoured Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) at the ‘Emirati Women.. Global Pioneering on Zayed’s Vision’ conference. DEWA was the main sponsor of the second edition of the conference, which was organised by EIPA in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the General Women’s Union. It was held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (Mother of the Nation).

“DEWA’s sponsorship of the ‘Emirati Women.. Global Pioneering on Zayed’s Vision’ conference, organised by EIPA, supports our role as a socially-responsible government organisation. It is in line with our strategy to support and consolidate the leading position achieved by women in the UAE and their empowerment, which was established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace. He was a strong supporter of women and encouraged them to take part in various forms of development. Today, Emirati women are actively involved in multiple sectors in the UAE, encouraged by the unlimited support provided by the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. We celebrate Emirati Women’s Day in the Year of Zayed, as the daughters of Zayed have made greater successes and achievements across all areas with the support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (Mother of the Nation),” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

A number of leading UAE and global figures in the public and private sectors took part in the conference, which highlighted key achievements of Emirati women from the perspective of intellectual property in the social, cultural, and economic fields. This was based on the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed, his support for Emirati women, and his keenness to provide them with opportunities and tools to reach the prestigious global position they enjoy and achieve outstanding results across various national fields. The conference also reviewed the contribution of Emirati women in enhancing the national economy, and their successful experience as active partners in developing the job market, and achieving sustainable development.
