DEWA’s Women Committee organises an awareness lecture on Human Resources guidelines for female employees

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s Women Committee has organised an awareness lecture on Human Resources guidelines for female employees, including maternity leave, retirement, and registration in DEWA’s nurseries. This is part of its strategy to provide an inspiring and happy work environment that ensures a better family and work-life balance for its female staff.

The lecture took place at the DEWA Campus for Occupational and Academic Development in Al Hudaiba, Dubai, for DEWA’s female employees and Human Resources representatives.

“DEWA’s top management strives to achieve the wise leadership vision which attaches great importance to its staff and inspires them, enables them to create and innovate, and looks after them. DEWA’s Women Committee seeks to provide the ingredients for the success and stability for female employees, who play a key role in DEWA’s regional and global achievements. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, once observed that human resources represent a key element of the development formula and it is important to create a conducive environment for attracting the best talent that can support the achievement of the government’s objectives. Improving legislative frameworks will help establish the right conditions for creating a brighter future. The Women’s Committee provides opportunities, capabilities, and settings that help female employees with different responsibilities succeed and develop as well as making them and their families happy,” said Fatima Mohammed Al Jokar, Chairperson of DEWA’s Women’s Committee.

“DEWA’s Women Committee is committed to enhancing the transparency and familiarising female employees with their rights and duties. This empowers them to harness their potential technically and practically to succeed, excel, actively participate in the development of the nation, and prepare its future generations. The Committee spares no efforts to motivate female staff to succeed, prove their capabilities. So far in 2019, the committee has organised various motivational and awareness lectures on maintaining a balance between work and personal life, successful education for children, and health awareness. We provided multiple sports activities, three times a week, supervised by certified trainers, for our female employees,” said Aysha Al Asam, Vice Chairperson of DEWA Women’s Committee.

DEWA’s female employees who attended the lecture enjoyed it as it had interesting topics and useful information. They also commended the efforts made by the Women's Committee to organise such lectures and awareness workshops that increase happiness and job satisfaction as well as enhance their knowledge, particularly the needs of female employees and working mothers.
