“It is my honour to congratulate His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai and President of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, on the historic launch of the Hope Probe to Mars. This confirms that the UAE has become a pioneering country in space science and technologies. This achieves the vision of the late Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, who pioneered the UAE’s interest in exploring space. This historic milestone also supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to revive the Arab civilisation and prepare the next generation of Arab astronomers and space scientists,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
“This global achievement shows that our wise leadership is committed to investing in talented UAE Nationals and providing them with an environment that encourages creativity, and all the resources they need to achieve leadership and excellence. This pioneering achievement will inspire more Emirati men and women to take part in space exploration missions and contribute to enhancing the UAE’s competitiveness in this key sector. It also sends a clear message to the whole world from the UAE, the land of positivity, optimism, and hope, that the word ‘impossible’ does not exist in the Emirati dictionary. I am pleased to congratulate the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre and the UAE Space Agency on this great achievement. I also commend the team who carried out this project according to the highest standards and worked to launch it on time despite the challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic,” added Al Tayer.
