DEWA raises female employees’ awareness of positive parenting practices

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Women’s Committee organised educational sessions at DEWA's five childcare centres to support mothers working at DEWA and raise their awareness about best practices in positive parenting, time management and achieving a work-life balance. The sessions also focused on children’s rights, as outlined in the Federal Law on Child Rights, widely known as Wadeema’s Law, and the importance of preserving national identity.

“The awareness events organised by the Committee are aimed at providing female employees with new skills, ensuring communication and co-operation, as well as sharing experiences that will enhance the quality of professional and family life, and providing all the components that will help them to build future generations capable of fulfilling national aspirations. In the ‘Year of Community’, we focus on strengthening ties within families and society, consolidating the values of belonging and developing intergenerational relations,” said Fatima Al Jokar, Chairperson of the Women’s Committee at DEWA.

During the sessions, educational consultant Huda Al Ali, Founder and General Director of Irtiqaa for Talents and Personal Competencies Development, provided practical advice on how to support a child's psychosocial development and establish effective communication, in addition to exploring ways to overcome the challenges faced by mothers in the workplace.
