Iftar to take place throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan as part of DEWA’s commitment to its staff As part of its social responsibility programme, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organising Iftar meals for its employees throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan. DEWA’s Iftar gatherings reflect its commitment towards humanitarian and charitable causes to strengthen social values. The daily Iftar meals have been planned for employees who work during Iftar in various departments, including the complaints department, emergency services, electricity and water network operations in different DEWA locations and Jebel Ali Power Station. The meals will also be available to customers present at DEWA’s main headquarters in Zabeel East. “We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all DEWA employees on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan. The DEWA family is fully aware of the hard work and dedication of its employees who are working shifts during Iftar. Therefore, we are committed to highlighting Ramadan’s values of caring and sharing these blessed times together,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. “The event takes place on a daily basis in the headl office; in keeping with the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan to look after our customers and encourage dialogue and social interaction,” HE Al Tayer added. This initiative highlights DEWA’s commitment to social responsibility and its staff, and in the process spread an effective communication culture among employees from different levels representing several departments. In addition, this social and cultural activity will help raise employee satisfaction and loyalty levels which will reflect on enhanced employee performance which can only benefit its customers. The Iftar also promotes the Holy Month of Ramadan’s values of humanitarian efforts and team spirit. The Ramadan tent represents a traditional icon of Emirati heritage. Many organisations and individuals set up such tents during the Holy Month as part of their social responsibility to society and by engaging in religious, social and cultural activities.
