DEWA empowers female employees through Reiki workshop

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) Women’s Committee organised a workshop on ‘Reiki’ under the motto of ‘Achieving Spiritual Wellbeing.’ Emirati specialist Majeda Abdulaziz Alsayid Masood from Al Huda Mind and Self Development Centre delivered the lecture on Reiki, which was attended by DEWA’s female employees. “DEWA organises specialised workshops as a part of its strategy to empower women, and enable DEWA’s female employees to achieve spiritual and physical wellbeing. We aim to provide a positive and encouraging work environment for our staff to urge them to be productive, optimistic, and confident. This will contribute to our process optimization and benefit our employees as well,” said Khawla Al Mehairi, Chairperson of Women’s Committee. “Participants had the chance to learn about energy centres in human’s bodies, and how to address physical pain and depression through simple exercises. The workshop discussed ways of overcoming fear and tension, rewarding one’s self and meditation,” said Fatima Deemas, Vice-Chairperson of DEWA’s Women’s Committee. “Through such events we seek to help our female employees to reduces their psychological and social pressures, and enable them to improve their creativity and productivity,” added Deemas.
