DEWA signs MoU with OSRAM Middle East to enhance green lighting solutions

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 17, 2013: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) signed a series of agreements on the third day of WETEX 2013, including a memorandum of understanding signed today with OSRAM Middle East, a leading international company in the field of lighting solutions. The agreement aims to promote eco-friendly products and sustainable solutions. It is also aims to organize campaigns and promotions for the staff of DEWA on eco-friendly products and solutions. The signing ceremony was attended by Waleed Salman, EVP-Strategy and Business Development, DEWA, and officials of OSRAM Mr. Erol Kirilmaz, Global Head of Sales - OSRAM and Tobias Metsch, Cluster Head, Middle East & Africa, Rami Obeid, Manager Retail & Marketing MEA and Arun Dangwal, Sales Manager- GCC. Commenting on the agreement, Waleed Salman said: Energy loss in lighting is diminishing in Dubai as a large segment of consumers recognizes the importance of adopting rationalizing methods in homes and workplaces. We are going to increase this awareness through public campaigns and continual communication with consumers and businesses. He added: We will work with OSRAM Middle East to achieve the objectives of this agreement for a whole year. Kirilmaz said: As a leader in innovative lighting solutions, we are dedicated to products and processes that contribute to solving global sustainability challenges, address economic needs and protect the environment for today and for the future.
