DEWA receives delegation from Dubai Customs

A delegation from Dubai Customs has visited Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to exchange best practices and review DEWA’s achievements in the areas of risk management, and key performance indicators. The delegation included Ikhlas Mohammed Al Mutawa, Director of Risk Management and Organisational Audit, Mohammed Rashid Al Mazroui, Senior Manager of Risks and Crises Department, Mariam Khalifa Al Shamsi, Director of Government Partnerships, and Fawzia Mahmoud Alasod, Senior Risk Analyst. Ali Almuwaijei, Director of Risk Management at DEWA, received the delegation. DEWA officials demonstrated the effective methods implemented at DEWA to measure risks, and further explained how DEWA’s strategy for risk management improves the overall operations and benefit its employees. DEWA won the Global Risk Award for Building Risk Management Capability from the UK-based Institute of Risk Management (IRM) in recognition of its implementing the best risk management mechanisms and adopting global best practices. “The visit is supports DEWA’s efforts to establish a continuous process for reaching out to government departments and private organisations to further enhance cooperation, share knowledge and explore new insights and ideas for improvement,” said Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at DEWA. The delegation thanked DEWA officials for providing an overview of its plans and projects, especially in the area of risk management.
