Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) | DEWA Delegation Visits IMMIB in Turkey

The Turkish Side expresses interest in participation in WETEX 2014 Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) delegation led by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer Vice Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) and MD & CEO of DEWA met HE Murat Akyuz, Chairman of the Board of the General Secretariat of Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), and Mr. Coskun Kirlogu, Secretary General, IMMIB Board of Directors, and Chairman of Group Associations welcomed the DEWA delegation, which included Dr. Yousef Ibrahim Al Akraf, EVP-HR and Business Support, Eng. Waleed Salman, EVP-Strategy and Business Development, Mr. Dawood Khalid, Sr. Manager, Commercial, and Ahmed Abdullah, Sr. Manager, External Communication. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer briefed the Turkish side about The Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, and presented the Water, Energy Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2014) and DEWA’s potential future projects. His Excellency expressed DEWA’s interest to strengthen relationships and explore new opportunities for collaboration and participation with the Turkish side. HE Murat Akyuz provided an overview about the organization as Associations of Exporters, and professional establishments, which deal with all export activities at the regions that witness export growth. These are affiliated to The Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Undersecretariat for Foreign Trade. The Chairman OF IMMIB has also expressed the interest of IMMIB Associations to identify business development and investments opportunities in Dubai in the framework of future collaboration and partnership between Dubai and The Turkish Businesses and Associations. During the meeting, the Turkish side expressed its interest in participating in WETEX 2014 as a key exhibitor and partner because of the exhibition’s global reputation in Water, Energy, Technology and Environment fields. HE Saeed Al Tayer welcomed this wish stressing the importance of such participations in promoting collaboration and sharing expertise for the mutual benefit of both sides. At the end of the visit, the two sides exchanged souvenirs, and HE Saeed Al Tayer presented the Turkish delegation with an English edition of the book ‘Flashes of Thought’ by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al maktoum, Vice President and prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The total number of companies working under the General Secretariat of Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association is 52,000 companies.
