DEWA honored by The Rashid Centre (RPC) for the Disabled

The Rashid Centre (RPC) for the Disabled celebrated its 20th anniversary of supporting children with special needs, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Centre’s Chairman, as well as the President of the Department of Civil Aviation, CEO and Chairman of The Emirates Group. The Rashid Centre (RPC) for the Disabled marked the anniversary at a ceremony held at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Al Mamzar - Dubai, to honour 20 individuals and organisations for their support, which enabled it to become a model in upholding the highest humanitarian values. HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and HH Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, MD of Rashid Centre honoured DEWA, represented by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA for being the Centre’s patron for the past 20 years and a Gold Sponsor. “Our support comes in line with vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform the UAE and Dubai into a model for promoting humanitarian work and community service. It also reflects the “My community...a city for everyone” initiative of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, which aims to give more opportunities to the disabled by 2020. It also fulfills the goals of the UAE Vision 2021 to be among the world’s best nations. DEWA is focused on promoting social responsibility initiatives and development projects for all segments of the society, including those with special needs,” said Al Tayer. “DEWA works with all stakeholders to achieve the strategic directives of Dubai Government in promoting social, economic, environmental and humanitarian values, and to enhance sustainable development through initiatives that assure a healthy environment for all citizens and residents,” added Al Tayer. “DEWA is committed to serve the community by sponsoring charity initiatives and focus on education, health and community care.
