Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) honoured 41 distinguished employees, in the presence of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support & Human Resources, at DEWA’s headquarters in Zabeel East. “We encourage our employees at all levels through initiatives to recognise their creativity and commitment. This in turn enables us to improve the level of services provided. The dedicated contribution of our employees has enabled us to win several outstanding honours globally and also set new regional and global benchmarks in customer service and organisational excellence,” said Al Tayer. Al Tayer presented awards to the winners of the Ibdaa Initiative. The winners are: Sheikh Hasher bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, Majid Abdulla Al Mohamed, Abdulkarim Ahmad Nasib Fairooz, Sumaia Abdulla Mohammed Al Ali, Mohammad Saif Abdulla Al Rahbi, Julio Vittorio Ricafort Tescon, Walid Mohammad Mohammadi, Dawre Nisar Abdul Sattar (Innovative Idea), Ashraf Ali Syeed Abdul Salam (Innovative Employee), and Mahmoud Baniabbasi (Innovative Leader). A Special Acts Award was also presented to Ganesan Venkatachalam from Generation Division, for his prompt and quick action in reporting a gas leak inside the air compressor house, which helped avoid considerable damage to equipment. Al Tayer presented awards to the team from Generation, Transmission Power and Water & Civil, who all played a major role in achieving the best annual gross heat rate (9,343 BTU/kWh) in DEWA’s history. The winners are: Nasser Lootah, Khalil Ahmad Mohd Sabet, Mansoor Saleh Al Suwaidi, Jaber Mohd Abdul Rahim, Maan Nadeem Hussain Al Afifi, Adel Al Haj Mahmood Shukralla, Mohamed Siddiq Wadiwala, Mana Mohd Ghuloum Al Maazmi, Bassam Mohd Abdulla Hannawi, Arif Amanulla Khan, Shaikh Waqar, Amr Mohd Abdel-Tawab Elawa, Mohamed Alu Ahmed Fares, Omar Mohd Saeed Belarai Al Falasi, Noura Ahmed Abdalla Al Ali, Policarpio Tinaja, and Fares Muhyiddin Salim. The team from Customer Service Division, who worked hard to achieving the ISO10002:2004 certification for Quality Management – Complaints handling from Bureau Veritas were also honoured. They include Adel Ali Mohd Bin Tamim, Shuaa Abdulla Al Darwish, Waheeba Hassan Abdulla Reqaqi and Fatima Muhanad Khaled. Al Tayer honoured the Best Cable Jointers of the 4th quarter of 2013, from the Projects Execution department and Distribution Power division. The winners are: Abdul Saleem Rahim Bad Shah, Bijeesh Kurumpadan Sudhakaran, Prem Gnanadhas Sundaramoni, and MD Giasuddin. The Best Cable Jointers of the year 2013 are: Joseph Velliamkunnathu Ninan, Palliparambil Kadar Abdulnazar, Saeed Mohammad and Taj Muhammad.
