Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has honoured 19 of its employees whose suggestions were implemented at DEWA. The distinguished employees made their suggestions through the ‘Tawasol’ programme which DEWA provides for its staff to make their suggestions in the technical fields related to DEWA’s operations or the social fields related to the employees themselves or the work environment. The honouring ceremony was attended by Hussain Lootah, Executive Vice President of Power Transmission, Abdullah Al Hajri, Executive Vice President of Customer Services, Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources, Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, and a number of DEWA employees. “Tawasol Programme aims to stimulate creativity and innovation among DEWA’s staff and create an environment that encourages them to present their constructive ideas and suggestions. Hundreds of wonderful suggestions have been received through Tawasol programme which has proved its success. Today, we are honouring a number of staff whose suggestions have been implemented at DEWA. The honouring is in line with our objective to recognise distinguished staff and enhance the work environment at DEWA to achieve its vision to become a sustainable world-class utility,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA Al Tayer noted that Tawasol has won the Best Suggestion Scheme Award in the Platinum Category at the 26th Ideas UK conference in Bristol, England. “Honouring distinguished staff is in line with DEWA’s endeavour to encourage innovation and excellence among its employees. Human resources are the most important elements in developing the working environment and achieving excellence. DEWA is keen to provide all the support to its staff, listen to their valuable suggestions and ideas and implement the ones that improve the working environment and recognise those who suggested them,” said Dr. Al Akraf. Waleed Salman honoured the employees whose suggestions through Tawasol have been implemented. The employees are: Amal Al Suwaidi, Ameena Ajlan, Shuaa Aldarwish, and Maher Abdulla from Customer Service; Manoj Pariyanghat, Nabila Al Shamsi, and Tanvir Hussain from Distribution Power; Abdulrahman Yousuf and Maha Al Khaja from Finance; Abdulla Al Hammadi from Marketing & Corporate Communication; Ayesha Sarwashi from Information Technology; Fatima Al Hammadi, Hajar Alshehhi, Mahmoud Jaber, Mohammed Alabbadi, Ramadan Abou El Fetouh, and Shirleen Guevara from Power & Water Planning; and Mostafa Elmahdy and Richo Fernandez from Transmission Power.
