Estareeh enables DEWA customers to pay their bills 24/7 with 19 partner banks

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that the number of its customers who choose to pay their bills electronically is increasing each year. DEWA has launched its Estareeh (Arabic for ‘Rest’) initiative to enable customers to pay their bills electronically, in partnership with 19 UAE banks. This year, over 100,000 bills are paid electronically each month online or on mobile apps, compared with 85,000 in 2013. Estareeh supports DEWA’s strategy to make life easier for its customers and make them happier by providing its services through innovative channels. The name Estareeh reflects DEWA’s purpose for this initiative. Our objective is the comfort and happiness of our customers by improving our services and providing them wherever our customers are, so that they don’t have to visit DEWA’s offices. This supports the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who said that we should take government services to the people before they come to us. It also supports the initiative of His Highness to measure the public’s happiness and their satisfaction with the services provided to them. DEWA constantly launches surveys and initiatives to gauge customers’ satisfaction about our services and learn about their requirements to achieve their satisfaction and happiness. DEWA has focused on the happiness of its stakeholders in its strategy for 2014-18,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. “The large number of banks and organisations that joined DEWA’s payment service reflects a shared commitment to provide the highest standards of quality and achieve the happiness of citizens and residents of Dubai. It promotes the level of customers’ comfort by providing a variety of payment options to the highest standards of privacy, security and reliability, in addition to promoting environment-friendly practices when paying bills, which supports our sustainability efforts and reflects our vision to become a sustainable world class utility,” added Al Tayer. In addition to customer service centres, customers can pay their bills via various channels including DEWA’s website and smart app, Etisalat payment machines, EPPCO/ENOC petrol stations, and Emirates Post offices. Customers can also pay at their banks through teller counters, ATMs, telephone banking, and direct debit from their accounts.
