MD & CEO discusses collaboration with Canadian Consul General

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), welcomed at his office HE Emmanuel Kamarianakis, Consul General of Canada to Dubai, and Glen McPherson, Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner in the Consulate General of Canada to Dubai, as part of a series of diplomatic and consular visits to DEWA. Welcoming the delegation, Al Tayer briefed them on DEWA’s work and activities as well as its growth and relentless development. He stressed the importance of exchanging expertise with Canadian companies, to strengthen cooperation in energy and sustainability. Al Tayer outlined DEWA’s strategy, projects and initiatives based on the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He highlighted some key development projects and strategic initiatives in Dubai to meet the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 to diversify the energy mix and reduce demand according to the highest international conservation standards, to achieve the objectives of Dubai Strategic Plan 2021. Discussions also covered the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the Hassyan Clean Coal Power Plant Project, the Smart Grid Project, and DEWA's three initiatives for the Dubai Smart Initiative. The Canadian delegation expressed its interest in participating in DEWA’s clean energy related projects on achieving sustainable growth for Dubai. The Canadian delegation thanked Al Tayer for the warm reception and the opportunity to discuss knowledge exchange and collaboration opportunities.
