DEWA honours the winners of its 2nd Suppliers Cricket Tournament


HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) honoured the winners of the 2nd DEWA Suppliers Cricket Tournament 2016. The tournament was held at the Insportz Club in Al Quoz, Dubai, and witnessed the participation of 20 corporate teams. Other than cricket, DEWA also organised a football and women’s bowling championship. These events support DEWA’s ongoing efforts as part of its strategy, to enhance communication and build long-term strategic partnerships.

Based on our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and as part of our commitment towards implementing the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we work to promote a culture of positive energy among our staff and stakeholders, while encouraging them to participate in sporting events, in a competitive environment, for individual fulfillment, and to enhance team work unity. This will help our staff and stakeholders accomplish their aspired goal, and make Dubai the happiest city in the world,” said Al Tayer.

Sports play a massive role in promoting happiness, maintaining public health, and creating a bridge among the UAE diversified community,” added Al Tayer.

Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA, stressed that organising the 2nd Suppliers Cricket Tournament comes as a result of the success achieved by the first tournament. The event was welcomed and accepted by all, and achieved happiness and satisfaction among all stakeholders. Dr. Al Akraf noted that activities such as these create an encouraging environment to achieve the happiness of stakeholders, which in turn positively affects the performance of services.
