“Environmental issues are attracting increasing attention around the world to raise awareness about the dangers to the planet. Governments around the world are adapting their strategies to conservation and climate change. Despite the efforts and initiatives that are being conducted around the world, some organisations are still following random approaches and are responsible for damage to large areas of land and oceans. This negatively affects air quality, and contributes to the elimination of biodiversity,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD&CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

“World Environment Day is an occasion to reflect on the results of environmental factors, the commitment of all countries towards the planet, the development of new policies and programmes that contribute to combating climate change, and the enactment of laws against violators.”

DEWA also supports the Dubai Plan 2021 to make Dubai a smart and sustainable city, whose environmental elements are clean, healthy and sustainable. This is the real impact of the government's work on the environment and promoting sustainability, said Al Tayer.”
