Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) celebrated the graduation of 55 children from its nurseries, who successfully completed the academic year and fulfilled the requirements to move on to kindergarten. DEWA has the three largest nurseries in the public sector across the UAE. The ceremony was held in the presence of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA.

Al Tayer expressed his happiness with the remarkable success achieved by DEWA’s nurseries. Employee satisfaction with the nursery was 98%, reflecting their contentment with the advanced level of care and education provided to the children, in addition to the psychological stability that mothers working at DEWA enjoyed due to the proximity to their children in the workplace.

“Under the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership, and in line with our strategy to satisfy our employees and ensure their comfort, we are committed to providing an ideal, stimulating, and happy work environment for our employees, which contributes to their psychological, family, and career stability. DEWA has established multiple nurseries since 2010 to support this goal, enhancing employee productivity, improving their performance at work, and benefitting society as a whole,” said Al Tayer.

“DEWA was one of the first government organisations to establish nurseries in support of working mothers, and today, it has the largest number of nurseries compared to other Dubai government institutions. These nurseries operate according to the highest international standards of modern education and upbringing. Their assigned teachers and supervisors are qualified and keen on developing the mental abilities of the children through various educational and recreational activities that contribute to children’s upbringing.”

“DEWA established the first nursery in 2010 at its main building with a capacity of 40 children, the second with a capacity of 48 children in the Sustainable Building at Al Quoz in April 2013, and the third, accommodating 87 children, at DEWA’s Al Warsan Centre. As of today, a total of 287 children have graduated from DEWA’s nurseries,” said Dr. Al Akraf
