MD & CEO of DEWA welcomes delegation from SAP

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has received a delegation from SAP, a multinational software corporation. The delegation included Robert Enslin, SAP Board Member and Global President for SAP Cloud; Gergi Abboud, Senior VP at SAP for Middle East South; Mohammed Samy, Region Head of Energy & Utilities Industry.  The meeting was also attended by Marwan Bin Haidar, EVP of Innovation and the Future at DEWA.

Al Tayer welcomed the delegation and briefed them on DEWA’s programmes, initiatives, and projects that aim to achieve the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in speeding up the digital transformation of the UAE, and strengthening Dubai’s position as a global digital platform. MORO was established by DEWA as part of its projects within the 10X initiative, which mandates the Government of Dubai to be a global leader that is 10 years ahead of all other cities through innovative disruptive technologies.

DEWA has launched its digital arm, Digital DEWA, pioneering a new model of utilities leveraging innovation in renewable energy, energy storage, artificial intelligence, and digital services.

During the meeting, both sides discussed means of expanding the cooperation through DEWA’s initiatives, programmes, projects, and investment opportunities. They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation and the sharing of best practices and global experiences in the areas of data centres, cloud networks, hosting services, and information technology systems.

The SAP delegation briefed Al Tayer on the latest services and solutions offered in the field of digital transformation and cloud computing, and expressed their appreciation for DEWA’s leading achievements and interest in participating in its projects.
