Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has reformulated its corporate vision in alignment with the 8 principles of governance launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. DEWA’s new vision is ‘a leading sustainable innovative global corporation.’ The move supports DEWA’s efforts to keep pace with the latest trends and best practices of governance in line with the vision and directives of the wise leadership. The new vision was approved by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, at a workshop including by DEWA’s Executive Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, officials, and specialists and experts in human resources, modern technologies, and smart applications.

“The vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum are a guiding light in our path towards excellence and coming first in various areas. The eight principles of governance launched by His Highness as well as the ten commandments of governance detailed in his book ‘My Story… Memories from Fifty Years of Service’ constitute a comprehensive work system for success and excellence and achieving the happiness of customers and society as a whole. They ensure sustainability of economic growth, make Dubai a global hub for creating economic opportunities, and attract the best minds and ideas. That’s why, we were eager to update DEWA’s vision to incorporate these principles and contribute to shaping the future, innovating technologies and adopting them to promote the UAE’s competitiveness globally, and support the shift towards a sustainable green economy in Dubai and the UAE,” said Al Tayer.

Al Tayer commended the participants’ involvement during the workshop, noting that DEWA will redefine its mission, values, and all strategic inputs based on its updated vision. He also thanked all divisions for their efforts to make DEWA’s excellence to the best. The MD & CEO urged them to continue the path towards excellence to achieve the vision of the wise leadership and enhance DEWA’s role in anticipating and shaping the future of energy; contributing to a brighter, more sustainable and happier future, for generations to come.
