The UAE, represented by DEWA, ranked first worldwide for the second consecutive year for Getting Electricity in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2019 report. This is another milestone in DEWA’s distinguished journey towards excellence, surpassing European and American utilities. DEWA reduced losses from electricity transmission and distribution networks to 3.3% compared to 6-7% in Europe and the US. Water network losses reduced to 6.5% in 2017, compared to 15% in North America, which is one of the best results in the world. DEWA also achieved the lowest customer minutes lost (CML) per year in the world of 2.39 minutes compared to 15 minutes by utilities in the European Union.
