Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has completed its preparations for GITEX Technology Week 2019, which will take place from 6-10 October 2019 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). DEWA will have its own stand (S2-D1) at Sheikh Saeed Hall and will provide a unique experience for visitors by introducing them to its latest services, initiatives, and projects in an innovative and interactive manner. Raffle draws with valuable prizes worth AED 350,000 for DEWA and GITEX customers will be awarded to 275 winners during GITEX 2019.
DEWA participation aligns with the government directives for digital transformation and to keep pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. DEWA will show its latest solutions, digital and disruptive technology, AI, digital transformation, automation, and its initiatives related to clean energy, smart grids and meters, to provide an unprecedented smart experience for the people of Dubai.
“DEWA is committed to participating every year in GITEX Technology Week, as it is an ideal platform for us to showcase our latest innovative projects and digital initiatives, to provide our customers with high-quality services. This comes in line with the directives of the wise leadership of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world. DEWA was one of the first government organisations to provide all its services through various smart channels in line with our efforts to achieve the vision of His Highness, and the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, to transform the Government of Dubai into a fully digital government and the first paperless government by the end of 2021. Smart adoption of DEWA’s services reached 94% till today,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
“DEWA implements the latest technological systems that help change work concepts and methods, to serve people and society by providing a better quality of life. DEWA’s efforts are focused on entering the race for the future, in line with promising government strategies that aim to employ the Fourth Industrial Revolution’s technologies such as AI, unmanned aerial vehicles, energy storage, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) as well as developing technical infrastructure and state-of-the-art smart services and solutions. At DEWA, we strive to implement ambitious national strategies and plans to support the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence; the first large project within the UAE Centennial 2071. This is the next phase after smart government. The UAE’s future services, sectors and infrastructure will depend on the investment and application of AI technologies and tools,” added Al Tayer.
Marwan Bin Haidar, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future at DEWA, affirmed that GITEX is an important opportunity for DEWA to showcase its latest experiences and best practices, and build more effective partnerships with regional and globally distinguished organisations in the technical field. This in addition to opening new horizons to benefit from available opportunities and develop future services that are consistent with continuous development, supporting the Smart Dubai initiative to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world. “DEWA supports efforts to consolidate the position of Dubai and the UAE in the fields of smart cities and making the future. DEWA is eager to employ advanced technologies and to develop and innovate solutions to face future challenges, aligning its strategy and initiatives with government plans and strategies,” added Bin Haidar.
Draws and prizes for customers during GITEX
Each year, DEWA is committed to enhancing interaction with GITEX’ visitors to show them its latest technological achievements and encourage them to adopt a more innovative lifestyle by using its digital services. Raffle draws with valuable prizes worth AED 350,000 for DEWA and GITEX customers will be awarded to 275 winners during GITEX 2019. Customers can enter the grand prize raffle draw by using DEWA’s smart app, website, or banks (ATMs, CDMs, online banking, bank smart apps), or Etisalat payment kiosks, from 1 January 2019 until 21 September 2019. These services include customers who pay DEWA bills, or utilise smart response, activate auto-payment, or redeem any DEWA Store offers.
