Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer discusses bilateral cooperation with Korea’s new Consul General

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), had a virtual meeting with HE Moon Byung-iun, the newly appointed Consul General of the Republic of Korea, to discuss bilateral collaboration between DEWA and Korean companies in the clean and renewable energy and water sectors.

Al Tayer welcomed the new Consul General and wished him success in his diplomatic mission, highlighting DEWA’s keenness to enhance collaboration with all diplomatic missions in the UAE. Al Tayer stressed the importance of fostering cooperation and constructive partnerships with Korean companies in different areas of the energy sector.

Al Tayer said that Dubai has a clear direction for the energy sector which is to increase the use of clean energy, utilise digital transformation and smart grids as well as Fourth Industrial Revolution applications and disruptive technologies to serve the energy and water sectors.

Al Tayer reviewed DEWA’s pioneering projects to achieve the wise leadership’s vision and its efforts to implement clean and renewable energy projects. This is in accordance with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to provide 75% of Dubai’s total power capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.

The Korean Consul General praised DEWA’s facilitation and fruitful collaboration for Korean organisations operating in Dubai.
