DEWA is the silver sponsor of the 3rd Gov Games

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced its participation as a silver sponsor of the 3rd Government Games which is held in line with the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; under the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. The games are organised and supervised by The General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council between 9-11 December 2021. 

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, highlighted DEWA’s support to sports events in accordance with the wise leadership’s vision to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle and to make sports a daily habit for society members of all ages.

“We are guided by the words of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who said ‘A sports championship is an occasion for us to renew our joy and self-confidence, and to join together in shared passions.’ Organising the third Government Games reflects Dubai’s keenness to gradually go back to normal, resume sports activities and enhance the concept of teamwork as well as inspire positive and constructive competition. We are pleased and honoured to sponsor this edition of Government Games and all sports activities that promote happiness, social and cultural harmony between all society members,” said Al Tayer.

This is amid an atmosphere of sportsmanship that is common in all sports activities in Dubai. DEWA’s top management strives to consolidate teamwork among employees and provide a work environment that helps employees balance their social and professional lives,” said Dr Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources, and Chairman of DEWA’s Sports Committee.

The third cycle of Gov Games features a new category for the community, which now allows citizens and residents in the UAE to take part in the challenge alongside government entities.
