The programme graduated 25 youth leaders across all UAE universities who presented innovative projects during the programme.

The three-month programme included an array of training workshops, specialised educational sessions, and field visits with academics, experts and specialists from different local and international universities, startups, and organisations. These include the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA); the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure; the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation; UAE University; Khalifa University; University of Sharjah; Dubai Future Foundation; the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the USA; and BASF company in Germany. In collaboration with DEWA’s Youth Council, a youth debate and a youth circle were held to promote sustainability and fight climate change.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, praised the effective participation of youth in the programme and their pioneering projects that provide constructive solutions that enhance youth contributions in current and future challenges to support growth and prosperity, for a brighter and more sustainable future.

“The Innovation Centre at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park supports DEWA’s efforts to empower youth, invest in their skills, develop initiatives and projects with them in different areas, and encourage them to apply their innovative ideas.
