From the outset, DEWA has adopted clear CSR strategies and developed an integrated framework in line with best local and international practices, legislation and laws, to enhance the happiness of all members of society. Our vision is guided by the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote volunteerism and social cohesion as key noble values, and to adhere to the principles of giving and support, upon which the UAE was founded. As we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the UAE, we embark on our journey towards the next fifty years, building upon the global achievements, the capacities of our youth, the culture of volunteering that is deeply rooted in Emirati society, and our civilisational approach stemming from the fundamentals pillars on which the UAE works for the good of all. Moreover, DEWA aims to balance economic, social, and environmental development according to a clear framework for integrated institutional work to serve the community. By launching and sponsoring many pioneering humanitarian and volunteer initiatives, DEWA seeks to be one of the largest contributors to supporting the integrated and sustainable ecosystem of volunteering in the UAE and Dubai,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

“As part of its social responsibility, DEWA launched 352 initiatives between 2013 and 2020, while our employees recorded around 145,634 volunteer hours in humanitarian and social initiatives. Additionally, DEWA launched its internal voluntary programme, iVolunteer, on its smart app and website to encourage and promote volunteerism amongst staff in line with the requirements of the Dubai Government Excellence Program.
