WETEX 2024 hosts extensive programme on sustainability in the oil and gas sector

The 26th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) will feature an intensive technical programme on sustainability in the oil and gas sector over its three days. Organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, WETEX will take place from 1 to 3 October 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

DEWA’s R&D Centre launches its fourth Transactions Report

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s Research and Development (R&D) Centre has published its fourth Transactions Report, highlighting the Scopus Indexed scientific and research papers presented at international conferences and journals in 2023. The report includes 71 research papers, marking a 14.5% increase compared to the previous year. The articles cover topics such as solar energy, water, energy efficiency, smart grid integration, Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, space technologies, and energy systems analysis.

DEWA’s R&D Centre highlights the OmniHub IoT terminal as part of Research in Spotlight series

As part of the Research in Spotlight series, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s Research and Development (R&D) Centre organised a session, attended by 75 DEWA employees, to highlight the features and capabilities of the OmniHub IoT terminal. OmniHub is one of the leading in-house research projects that were developed as part of DEWA’s Space programme (Space-D) to connect terrestrial sensors to satellites and ground networks. The terminal was fully designed and manufactured in the R&D Centre, including the 3D printed enclosure.

DEWA’s projects and programmes contribute to enhancing energy and water efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has made a significant achievement in improving electricity and water production efficiency, by 41.73% in 2023 compared to 2006. This equates to a cumulative reduction of 92.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions between 2006 and 2023, equivalent to planting 484 million trees required to absorb this amount of CO2 emissions.
