WGES 2023 thematic pillars support the UAE’s priority areas for COP28

The World Green Economy Summit (WGES) has revealed the thematic pillars of its 9th edition, which are: green policy, green finance, green technology and innovation, green energy, and green partnerships. These pillars align with the UAE’s priority areas for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be hosted by the UAE at Expo City Dubai from 30 November to 12 December 2023.

DEWA organises a specialised seminar on sustainable buildings

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s Research and Development (R&D) Centre has organised a specialised seminar in the presence of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. The seminar, entitled ‘Optimisation of Building Design for GCC Region’, was held at DEWA Academy and was attended by a large number of DEWA officials and employees. It is a part of the Al Baheth programme, which was launched by the R&D Centre to develop and refine Emirati talents and competencies. The programme also encourages them to engage in research, competitions, events and training, organised by the Centre in collaboration with major international companies and a select group of researchers, academics and international speakers.

Empower approves distributing AED 425 million dividends to shareholders

The General Assembly of Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation PJSC (Empower), in a meeting convened with a quorum of 86.82% of the Company's paid-up share capital, approved the Board's proposal on the distribution of cash dividends to shareholders in a total amount of AED 425,000,000 (AED 0.0425 per share, representing an equivalent to 42.5% of the company's paid-up capital). The dividends are approved for the second half of the year 2022, and are set to be paid to shareholders in the month of April of 2023. His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of Empower chaired the General Assembly meeting that took place today, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Habtoor Palace, Dubai. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Ahmad bin Shafar, Chief Executive Officer and members of the Board of Directors of Empower.

DEWA holds conference for bidders on the sixth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised a special conference at its headquarters to give an overview for local and international bidders about the latest developments of the 1,800MW 6th phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, using photovoltaic solar panels.
