Vice Chairman of Supreme Council of Energy meets with Vice Chairman of Chinese National Energy Administration

A delegation from the Supreme Council of Energy was welcomed by Liu Qi, Vice Chairman of the National Energy Administration (NEA) of the People’s Republic of China, as part of its visit to China. The delegation was led by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Council, and included Ahmad Butti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council, and from DEWA, Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, Nasser Lootah, Executive Vice President of Generation, Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support, Lars Marmsjo, Chief Advisor on Generation, Ahmed Abdullah, Deputy Senior Manager of External Communications, and Arif Julfar, Manager of Media and Marketing. During the meeting, Liu Qi highlighted the strong relations between China and the UAE and their common interests in renewable and clean energy. Liu Qi also praised the UAE’s drive to implement and instill the drive for sustainability by setting-up an integrated strategy for renewable and clean energy, as well as energy-demand management systems. Al Tayer thanked the NEA for the warm reception. During the meeting, he briefed Liu Qi about the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, which aims to diversify energy sources. Furthermore, the two sides discussed fostering collaboration in the field of renewable energy. Both sides agreed to increase their existing close ties by opening up trade and investment opportunities through joint working teams to carry out strategic energy projects. At the end of the meeting, Al Tayer and Liu Qi exchanged souvenirs and promised to enhance collaboration between both sides to support their common goals and efforts in the energy sector.
