DEWA receives delegation from Abu Dhabi Municipality

A delegation from Abu Dhabi Municipality has visited Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to exchange best practices and review DEWA’s achievements in the areas of risk management and key performance indicators. The visit was welcomed by Ali Almuwaijei, Director of Enterprise Risk Management at DEWA. The visit supports DEWA’s efforts to establish a continuous process of reaching out to government departments and private organisations to further enhance cooperation, share knowledge and explore new insights and ideas for improvement. The delegates reviewed DEWA’s achievements in the field of risk management and its various aspects, including methodologies, strategies, responsibilities, structure, and challenges. DEWA officials demonstrated methods of communications between the risk management team and various departments and divisions across DEWA. DEWA won the Global Risk Award for Building Risk Management Capability from the UK-based Institute of Risk Management (IRM) in recognition of its implementing best risk management mechanisms and adopting global best practices in accordance with the ISO 31000 risk management standard. The delegation thanked DEWA officials for providing an overview on DEWA’s plans and projects, particularly in the area of risk management.
