As part of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) corporate social responsibility and its efforts to promote all-round social development, the Electricity and Water Planning Division at DEWA launched the ‘Quench Their Thirst’ campaign to further strengthen communication with the workers at DEWA’s branches and power plants. The first phase of the campaign targeted workers at DEWA’s headquarters in East Zabeel and those based at its main Substation under construction in the Dubai Dry Docks. The Social Service team at the Electricity and Water Planning Division conducted a field visit to both locations to oversee the conditions of the workers and understand their needs. Water bottles and breakfast meals were distributed to the workers in appreciation of their dedicated work. “Led by its vision, mission, motto and values, DEWA works to achieve the sustainable development of Dubai and promote social responsibility. DEWA’s senior management supports our associates to ensure a positive work environment, increase productivity, and enhance loyalty. We consistently launch internal initiatives to promote a culture of collaboration and volunteering across our organisation,” said Khawla Al Mehairi, VP Marketing and Corporate Communications at work. “The Social Service team at the Electricity and Water Planning Division aims to promote social volunteering work to support the welfare of all DEWA employees. We launched the ‘Quench Their Thirst’ campaign in collaboration with the Marketing and Corporate Communications Division to help enhance the loyalty of DEWA employees and promote communication among them,” said Abdulla Al Aghbari, VP of Distribution Planning at DEWA.
