DEWA creates ideal venue to spotlight latest solar energy technologies at WETEX 2015

Dubai, UAE, 22 April 2015: To boost the green economy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has dedicated Hall 8 at the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2015) to local and global companies who are providing solar energy technologies. “We are determined to continue building and developing a green economy to achieve the UAE Vision 2021, which focuses on clean energy. We also support Dubai Plan 2021 to establish Dubai as a smart and sustainable city, whose environmental elements are clean, healthy, and sustainable. Our efforts also complement the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, to diversify energy sources to include 71% from natural gas, 15% from solar energy, 7% from clean coal, and 7% from nuclear power,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO, DEWA, President and Founder of WETEX. Through its stand in Hall 8, the Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA) aims to expand the use of solar power in the Middle East, strengthen the local solar industry, and facilitate business opportunities for its members. In collaboration with a number of major companies, MESIA has arranged 11 workshops and lectures during 3 days of WETEX, to discuss solar energy and its importance, led by experts. Another prominent participant in Hall 8 is Alsa Solar Systems, which has put on display a model of the solar panels. The company also showcases models of street lighting powered by solar energy. Alsa Solar Systems is currently implementing a giant solar project in Abu Dhabi, in addition to other major projects. Enviromena Power Systems is also located in the same Hall, putting on display projects like installing solar panels on surfaces in Qatar, in addition to a project in the Al Mamoura in Abu Dhabi, and other projects that offer practical experience of solar energy, especially in the UAE and the Gulf states. A prominent stand for Kyocera Solar spotlights solar energy production tools. The company is showcasing designs for solar projects using panels in parking lots, in addition to panels on rooftops at homes and offices. Kyocera Solar also has a variety of projects, including a project in Spain. Yingli Solar is putting on display large solar panels in Hall 8, as well as several projects built with a vision for clean renewable energy for all. Researchers and specialised players can review several production tools and solutions for solar energy, through real models, live displays and photos. For example, AlumilSolar highlights solar and photovoltaic energy production tools on its stand. WETEX is giving exhibitors and producers a place to meet under one roof at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
