DEWA participates in Careers UAE 2015 as Platinum Sponsor and announces 300 jobs for Emiratis in 2015

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is participating in Careers UAE 2015, which is held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as a Platinum Sponsor. Careers UAE is held from 28-30 April 2015 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over 160 government departments and private organisations are participating in Careers UAE, which is one of the largest recruitment, education, and training events for UAE citizens. It enables Emirati professionals to meet face-to-face with recruiters and HR managers of major organisations from the public and private sectors. It also contributes to raising Emirati participation in the workforce across various disciplines. DEWA is participating to recruit qualified Emiratis who are looking for jobs in the government sector. Careers UAE’s theme this year is ‘Empowering Nationals,’ and DEWA has allocated 300 jobs in 2015 for Emiratis. “To achieve the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote Emiratisation in government departments and organisations, and to reflect the goals and objectives of the UAE National Agenda to develop the skills of Emiratis, DEWA’s strategy is to encourage and stimulate Emiratisation policies. As part of our Emiratisation programme, we have allocated many administrative and technical jobs for new graduates. DEWA has achieved excellent results in Emiratising the workforce with 82.80% of UAE Nationals in senior management, 44.48% in middle management, and 33.07% in non-supervisory positions,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA. “Led by our Emiratisation policy, DEWA participates in annual career fairs and recruitment exhibitions to identify competent Emiratis who want to join government departments and organisations. Careers UAE is the ideal venue for the public and private sectors to meet with UAE Nationals who are seeking job opportunities with them. This contributes to raising the pace of Emiratisation. DEWA provides the opportunity for graduates to apply for work at DEWA, which offers attractive packages, training, and other benefits that Emirati graduates are looking for, to build professional and successful careers,” added Al Tayer. “DEWA focuses on providing staff with the appropriate skills that meet work needs. We launch comprehensive training programme for our staff on a regular basis to sharpen their skills. This is vital for improving their performance and achieving new levels of success. It also enhances their knowledge and experience and achieves excellence in all aspects of their professional life. DEWA has also launched several educational programmes for Emirati students who wish to continue their studies in the UAE and abroad in mechanical and electrical engineering, and renewable energy,” said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources in DEWA. DEWA has updated its job application portal on its website (careers.dewa.gov.ae) to enable applicants to upload their CVs quickly and easily.
