DEWA Women's Committee organises a trip to Mirzam Chocolate Factory

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Women’s Committee organised a trip for its female staff to the Mirzam Chocolate Factory, a local factory that specialises in manufacturing various cocoa products. Over 50 female staff from all DEWA’s sectors took part in the trip, which supports the Women Committee’s efforts to promote positive interaction and social cohesion among female employees.

The female staff were introduced to the different stages of chocolate making, including bringing hand-harvested cocoa beans from tropical regions to the factory in Dubai and the process of storing, roasting, and grinding as well as preparing different types of chocolate bars, followed by packaging. The employees also participated in a workshop on preparing cocoa products and working as a team.

Fatima Mohammed Al Jokar, Chairperson of DEWA Women's Committee, emphasised the Committee’s keenness to organise such activities that accomplish many objectives, the most important of which is achieving social cohesion among female employees.

“These activities are part of the Women Committee’s strategy to provide a happy, positive, cohesive, and motivating work environment for female employees and empowering them in various fields. These educational trips are an important aspect of our social activities that contribute to achieving a balance between their professional and social lives, which reflects positively on their happiness," said Al Jokar.

The female staff who went on the trip expressed their happiness at visiting this unique factory and learn about the steps of chocolate making. They also commended the Committee’s efforts for organising such activities that enhance social interaction with their colleagues from different sectors and departments.
