38 seminars and discussion panels on 3rd day of virtual WETEX and Dubai Solar Show 2020

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organises 102 specialised seminars and discussion panels during the three-day Water, Energy, Environment, and Technology Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show 2020. DEWA organises the exhibition on a 3D virtual platform from 26-28 October 2020. The seminars support DEWA’s strategy to encourage research and development, and establish WETEX and Dubai Solar Show as a leading global platform. Experts and specialists from large international companies discuss the latest developments and technologies in the water, energy, sustainability and innovation sectors.

Seminars of the 1st day of the exhibition were very popular among visitors from all over the world. A total of 6,545 people participated in 29 seminars and discussion panels. A session titled Energy Transition in the Middle East presented by Dietmar Siersdorfer, Managing Director of Siemens Energy, Middle East and UAE, was attended by 585 people; a session titled Dubai Energy Management Strategic Vision and Plan presented by Faisal Rashid, Senior Director, Demand Side Management, Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, was attended by 388 people; and a session titled The Role of Youth and Women in the Utilities Sector of the UAE, presented by Fatima Aljokar, Legal Advisor & Head of DEWA Women’s Committee, and Aysha Alremaithi, Senior Engineer & Head of DEWA Youth Council, was attended by 387 people.

The seminars are held in 5 halls using 3D virtual platforms: Energy Hall, Innovation Hall, Sustainability Hall, the Supplier Relationship Management Hall, in addition to the Main Hall. Visitors can participate in the live seminars and ask questions through the virtual platform on www.wetex.ae or WETEX smart app. DEWA has urged the public and students to take part in the live or recorded seminars on the virtual platform during the exhibition days only.
