“On this day five decades ago, our Founding Fathers took the first step on the journey towards excellence by building a nation that ensures the well-being and happiness of its citizens, residents, and visitors. This year, we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Union, as the UAE has accomplished significant global achievements. Thanks to the vision and directives of the wise leadership, the UAE has become one of the first countries to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. It currently welcomes visitors from all over the world at Expo 2020 Dubai, which is a unique platform that tells the UAE’s success story and sends a message of hope to the whole world that challenges can be turned into promising opportunities. This has become possible thanks to the forward-looking vision of the wise leadership and the strong willpower and sincere efforts of the people of the UAE who seek to pay back to their giving nation. Expo 2020 Dubai is also an opportunity to introduce the UAE’s achievements over the past 50 years and its preparations for the next 50 years. While we are proud of the UAE's achievements across all sectors, we are honoured that DEWA is part of these achievements through achieving results that surpass major utilities worldwide,” said Al Tayer.

“Celebrating the National Day is an opportunity to thank God for blessing us with a wise leadership that has made the UAE an oasis for happiness and prosperity, presenting a unique global model for peace, tolerance, and love, where everyone lives in harmony. Observing this occasion is also a call for us to continue the development and progress, inspired by the ‘Spirit of the Union’ as the driving force that motivates us to work both day and night to enhance the UAE’s leadership in all areas as well as DEWA’s competitiveness locally, regionally, and globally. We also work to achieve the Principles of the 50, approved by the UAE’s wise leadership, to build the best and most dynamic economy in the world. On this day, we reaffirm our loyalty and belonging to our wise leadership and we pledge to continue our sincere and hard work to protect the national gains and achievements, while participating in shaping the UAE’s future in the next fifty years, and make it the world’s leading nation by its Centennial in 2071. We pray to God Almighty to protect our nation and continue to bless it with peace, safety, stability, and prosperity,” added Al Tayer.
