The Women’s Committee of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised a series of field visits to DEWA branches during the second quarter of 2025, interacting with more than 300 female employees from different sectors and locations. These visits underscore DEWA’s efforts to empower women in the workplace and enhance communication with female employees.

The meetings included interactive panel discussions in which female employees had the opportunity to discuss the committee’s plans for the next two years and present suggestions and ideas to help improve their work-life balance, thereby enhancing their contribution to DEWA’s organisational and strategic objectives.

“At the Women’s Committee, we are keen to be close to female employees across various work sites, and to provide an open space for dialogue and the expression of opinions and aspirations, following a participatory approach based on transparency and engagement. This tour is a continuation of the committee’s field initiatives, which aim to incorporate feedback and suggestions into actual plans, making female employees true partners in shaping development decisions within DEWA. During the second half of the year, we aim to expand the scope of these programmes through new interactive initiatives that enhance the committee’s presence and engagement with all DEWA female employees, in addition to continuing the Edhaa initiative, which highlights inspiring Emirati women across different fields,” said Fatima Mohammed Al Jokar, Chairperson of the DEWA’s Women’s Committee.

Vice Chairperson Aysha Al Asam Almazrouei said the tour reflects the commitment of the committee to involve female employees in decision-making, while also strengthening professional and social ties.

“This contributes to creating a flexible work environment that enables women to achieve their ambitions and effectively support DEWA’s objectives,” said Almazrouei.

The discussion panels witnessed strong engagement from female employees, who expressed their appreciation for the committee’s initiatives, which open new horizons for expression and participation, and strengthen their sense of belonging and confidence in the organisational system. The visits also served as an opportunity to explore key challenges and propose development initiatives that will enrich the committee’s work plan with more comprehensive themes aligned with the needs of female employees.
