Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) won the Investors in People Platinum Category Award for 2025, marking its second achievement of the most prestigious level of this global accolade. DEWA also received the Invest in Wellbeing Platinum Category Award for 2025 on its debut participation. Further cementing its global leadership, DEWA ranked first worldwide among large organisations with more than 5,000 employees and was recognised as the largest company in this category. It also secured the top global ranking across the electricity and water sectors. These achievements follow a rigorous evaluation by Investors in People assessors from the UK.

“We learnt from the school of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, that developing human potential is the greatest national investment and the cornerstone for consolidating the foundations of a competitive, knowledge-based economy underpinned by innovation and excellence. At DEWA, we provide an attractive and fulfilling work environment that ensures work-life balance, stimulates leadership and reinforces readiness for the future. The prestigious international awards we win and our world-class records in many key performance indicators confirm our pioneering position in employee happiness and well-being. We spare no effort as we continue to strengthen our global model of happiness that is based on a sustainable work culture and an open-door policy. We provide all the elements that make happiness a way of life and elevate overall well-being, fortifying Dubai’s position as the preferred destination to live and work,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

Dr Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA, said: “In line with our belief in the important role of a positive work environment in raising levels of efficiency, performance and productivity, we continually launch programmes and initiatives that empower employees, boost workplace harmony and promote physical, mental and psychological well-being, ensuring the highest levels of happiness for both our team and stakeholders.”

DEWA first received the Investors in People Platinum Category Award in 2022, making it the only large enterprise with more than 5,000 employees to earn this prestigious accolade worldwide (excluding the United Kingdom) and the sole recipient of this recognition in the Middle East. DEWA won the same award (gold category) in 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2019. This recognition is considered as a global standard that identifies unique practices in human resources to achieve corporate objectives and strategic directives.
