HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), honoured 417 employees at the Nujoom DEWA Excellence Awards in recognition of their outstanding performance and contributions to organisational excellence, greater efficiency and higher standards of work. The ceremony, covering the first and second award cycles of 2025, was held at Al Shera’a, DEWA’s headquarters.
In his speech at the ceremony, Al Tayer emphasised that the employees who were recognised had embodied, through their successes and achievements, the values of excellence, innovation and responsibility, contributing to DEWA’s journey towards new levels of global leadership and reinforcing its position among the world’s leading utilities. He noted that the recognition goes beyond celebrating individual and team achievements; it reaffirms our belief that human capital is the main driver of success, and that our talented people are the foundation for achieving DEWA’s vision as a globally leading sustainable innovative corporation committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050.
“The vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has established a global role model for government excellence based on unwavering ambition, innovation and the ability to anticipate and shape the future. From this approach, we derive our conviction that excellence is not a destination, but an ongoing journey of progress, improvement and the pursuit of new opportunities. In this context, we have a clear strategy that places innovation, sustainability and digital transformation at the core of our operations. It is based on empowering national competencies and providing a motivating work environment that gives every employee the opportunity to succeed, excel and achieve significant milestones. The Nujoom DEWA awards reinforce this organisational culture by recognising outstanding performance, encouraging innovative initiatives and promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise. They also reflect our commitment to building an integrated ecosystem for excellence that makes every employee a partner in achieving DEWA’s goals and our future aspirations,” said Al Tayer.
“Your recognition is an appreciation of what you have achieved and, at the same time, an invitation to continue innovating and leading positive change. You are ambassadors of excellence, and your role is not limited to achieving results, but extends to inspiring others, sharing knowledge and promoting a culture of continuous achievement. As we celebrate your achievements, we look forward to continuing the journey together as one team, reinforcing DEWA’s global leadership and supporting the sustainability, innovation and quality of life targets of Dubai and the UAE,” added Al Tayer, addressing the employees.
Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, said: “Nujoom DEWA internal excellence awards consolidate a culture of organisational excellence and foster positive competition among DEWA employees and divisions.
